MAPG Entry- Jewel Beetle Wing pen

I have been thinking about and experimenting with how to make this pen since Martin (Manu Propria) posted his Tamamushi cuff links. I figured out an approach just in time for the MAPG. It took 2nd in the component pen category and earned me 4 Underhill pheasant feather blanks. This my first one of this kind of gatherings. I saw lots of incredible pens, put faces to names, learned a lot from the demos, spent lots of money, and won some of Jonathon's blanks as a door prize. The organizers and sponsors did a fantastic job. All in all a great time.

I found the wings on etsy, they came from Taiwan I think. Must have been Asian bikers.
