I just got through building a pair of desktop in and out boxes for my wife to take to work out of leyland cypress. The wood grain really pops when the finish is applied and it has a spicy smell to it when cut. I wanted to see if I could get some grain to pop on a pen but apparently the grain pattern is too big to work well with such a small item. Maybe another piece will look better, have to look for some better figured chunks. The color is nice though.
