If I ever turn Cottonwood bark again that has been inlaid with PR please put me out of my misery now! I was determined to get this at least to the stage that it resembled a pen.The inlay came out beautiful but the barkwood is so soft that no matter how sharp and how light you try to turn it, it just disintegrates, I used 300 grit sandpaper and it would tear out chunks, I soaked the blanks with thin CA, no help, after a frustrating 5 hrs. this is the results.
I must thank Jeff Powell (workinforwood)for his great scroll work.
All comments welcome.....

The bottom pen is the right color, the top one seems to be flushed with orange somehow. Looks great though, sorry it was such a pain to spin. Could have just been a bad piece though. It's not the easiest to scroll either, sorta like scrolling a wafer cookie..or what I'd imagine that to be like.
