I go out for the evening and come home to this...

Sitting on the lathe when I got home last night was this fine creation. I'm not sure when she glued up the blanks for this but it was all done and ready for finish before I ever even knew it existed.

So from what I can gather, it's red heart, tulip wood, black wood, 2 different thicknesses of aluminum and cork.

I think we need a 2nd lathe in the house

Ok, the "black wood" was a description. It's actually Ziricote between the sections of aluminum.

Yes, it's the Panache kit. Not a bad roller ball kit and it's a dedicated desk pen meant to stand on it's own.
