Thanks to jttheclockman for this idea. It is molten copper when epoxy inlays. All done on a laser. This is a start it came out ok, but this was an experiment for a new project hopefully that will be done in time for Philly pen show 2014. The epoxy is a custom color.

I was wondering....are you outsourcing the 'laser work' or do you have one?

Nice design, and the colors work really well with each other!!! Outstanding!!

Thanks guys. I still have a lot of work to do to make it perfect. This was just a proto-type of something coming out in January. When I was in my large shop I had an Epilog Laser, but since moving I had to sell it. I sold it to the guy who is doing my engraving now. The hardest part was the layout just like segmentation you need to calculate the various sizes. The second hardest part was the inlay and keeping the epoxy in place. It takes about 2 hours to do the inlays.

One note if you do this. make sure you do not touch the blank for about 15 minutes after coming out of the laser. The blank is soft and very hot and can deform very easy.

Sold the one the other was a door prize. Received a couple of orders for some more.
