Decided to see what I could do to change up the look of the zen and at the
same time build a simple closed end with a magnetic cap.
It was fun to build and the cap worked out well (no grain match issues just turn the cap!)

Great looking pen Mark. Did you modify and glue the Zen cap into the blank?
Yes,I sanded the cap back to the brass, that brought it down to a 13mm
drill size,using a punch I drove the top of the cap off and slipped it in
with epoxy for lube,I counter sunk the tubes .060 to flush the inserts.
the bottom tube is complete with the rear collar sanded flush with the tube
so as to slide the entire piece into place to eliminate the guessing on spring clearance.
Pretty easy, and because it's magnetic there no fussing with grain lineup
