This is the first time I have worked with Tru-Stone and I am happy with the results. I did get some much needed sharpening practice in the process.

That looks great.. beautiful finish.
Manny, try the Lapis. They say it is one of the harder Tru-Stones, but
I had no trouble with it as long as I turned as if the blank was metal and
not wood.
I used a 'spear scraper'* as if it were a left hand cutter and sharpened
often.

* I've seen this called a spear scraper, a diamond scraper and something
else .. it came with a no-name set of chisels, but I can't find another one
online anywhere. Looking from the side, it has a bevel like a scraper, but
viewed from the top it is cut to a point with a 90 degree (subject to change
depending on my sharpening skills..)

Wish I could find another one .. favorite scraper that can give a beautiful
finish right off the tool..
