Here's my second pen ever.
Walnut, Walmart pen kit. Wiped on lacquer.
It sure is nice to go out to the shop and finish a project in an hour...

It's much better than the first one. The fit is much better and I didn't trash two kits to get 'er done. My mandrel is still pretty bent, but I'll replace it soon.

The nice thing is that I have so much scrap wood from the cabinet shop and these kits are so cheap it really doesn't matter if you mess up, or it's not perfect. And people love 'em anyway...

I gave the first one to a friend who could enter a lookalike contest with and win... I've been complemented on his singing more than once...

Nice looking pen. I've given up on the Wal-Mart pens. I find a $1.70 Slimline kit to be far easier to make!!

Well I did trash the first two kits...[^]

But this one was easy peasy. Once you have the bushings made and have the correct drills, then it all just falls together.[:)]

I'm gonna get some a those Target pen kits next...
