Water Buffalo Horn

Thought I would try asking again, a few months have elapsed and I still have had no luck.

I need some LARGE pieces of black water buffalo horn. Must be solid, no seaming or bonding of multiple pieces.

Problem is the size....I need 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 7" blocks, or 1 1/4" diameter rods 7" long. I fully realize how difficult it is to get these size pieces out of a curved horn, but I know its possible, because I have seen one.

Guess I'm asking if anyone knows a specialty/custom supplier who would be willing to do some digging. I've tried all the "normal" suppliers, many mentioned here, with no results.

These guys carry all kinds of horn, might not be listed, but they have it, so give them a call. It'll be "in the rough" thought, you will have to cut and turn it yourself.

If you aren't limited to JUST cape buffalo, you might consider gemsbok horn. You should have a much easier time getting that size straight dowel out of that.
