been a while since I posted so here are some that I have done over the last couple weeks...

This is a Larimar True Stone from R&B crafts with a gold Baron kit.

A Sierra in the Conch Shell True Stone from R&B...Poor little conch, probably made a good Conch fritter....(okay I know its synthetic...)

20071012174229_A_malachite.jpg

A Sierra in the Malachite/Azurite Truestone also from R&B Crafts.

2007101217432_A_turq.jpg

Last in the TruStone is a White Turqoise Sierra. This stuff just looks classy. It also turns like butter...

20071012174337_A_ocean.jpg

A Designer style in Acrylic from Bear Creek/Woodcraft/Arizona...

2007101217449_A_gator.jpg

A Cigar Pen in Acrylic Acetate from Rockler. Ultra Blue and Orange. Inspiration from YoYoSpin...

20071012174441_A_redburl.jpg

Red Dyed Boxelder Burl from Arizona Silo. CA Slurry to fill, then MM to 12000, then finished with Mylands, and Renassance wax and a clean buffing wheel...Shiny but still feels like wood.

2007101217457_A_steel.jpg

Lastly is a Cigar made from one of Ed Browns Metallics...These blanks look great before they are turned even.

All truestones and Acrylics were finished with Micromesh wet to 12000, Hut PPP polish, and a quick buff on a clean wheel.

Opinions Welcome...

I did paint the tubes and the blank, but it did not appear to be trasnparent when turned. If you chip it, it sure looks like it will be so I painted both.
I am now painting the blanks and tubes on all acrylics just to be safe.

Thanks for showing the blue metallic, Kirby. And NICE job on ALL the above.

The metallics (10 colors available) do not NEED to be painted, USUALLY. But, like Kirby, I believe painting IS a safeguard. OR use black tubes, either CSUSA new line or "aged" with the chemical from Mike (Kennedy).

Just a FWIW!!

Again, Thanks for the plug, Kirby!!!
