Small Bud Vase

Here's my first attempt at a bud vase. Sorry I didn't have any flowers to put into it. It is made from the reclaimed crib dam wood. This was originally bottle stopper blank #5, but since no one was interested in them, I decided to turn it. I originally had a different shape in mind, but if I had kept with that plan, I would have lost the unique coloration of the wood, so this shape was born. Please be frank and honest, and tell me what you really think of it. Overall, it is about 3" high, an estimate since I didn't measure it. Finish is just a coat of BLO.

that is beautiful. YOu should be very pleased with that. I like it a lot. especially that shape looks very effective on how the grain seems to be going to a point at the bottom. I think that is very nice indeed
