Hi,

I had an idea for a shaving brush made with simulation ivory (Craft Supply) with a cabochon set into the base.:)

Here is the result of my idea.

Thanks Anthony,

Yes, the sell 1 1/2" x 12" bars, I got 5 pieces out of one bar.

I wanted the brush to stand up, so I recessed the cabouchon, but it looks deep to me, but any shallower than seen here and it would fall over....I am not sure now if standing Up is so important, what has your experience been with that?

Very classy looking, I like the black better in this case. You could also try making a stand to hang the brush instead of standing it up. Than you get to see the cabachon more, too.

Thank YOu Jason,

I struggled with that in making this first one, I wanted it to stand, but to do so I had to recess the cabochon as you see it.

Your idea of a stand is a really good one!

Now I wonder where I can get a stand....hmmmm

JIm, I think the bottom needs to be flat, so it can stand. My next batch I make,I am going to recess
the lower portion of the handle, to fit the stands on the market by The Art of Shaving.
