I have had a request from a friend to make something using a 30mm shell casing (her son flys A10s) Not too sure what to do here, I cab get the shells and get them powder coated but what to make is the questions. A desk set of some kind? Open to any and all ideas?

Can you use the shell as the "holder" for a pen and pencil set? Drill a hole in the case or use a "funnel" pen holder as an adapter.

Kids sidewalk chalk holder. Anything that needs a handle with a nearly 1 1/4" hole. I think Rangertrek has the right idea. The brass is too large and heavy to hold as a pen, but would make a nice display/holder, maybe displayed on its side with a "bullet" turned and pressed in, and a couple funnels mounted in the top to hold a bullet pen/pencil set.
