Not sure where/how to ask if I am the only one suffering extended wait times when navigating the New Posts forum. Not a all uncommon to have to wait 4-5 minutes or more after clicking for the next page of threads, to scroll a thread, or to return from a thread to the page list. I've learned not to try any navigation (click or scroll) until "continuous circle" icon goes away in the tab. I'm using Windows 10 and Explorer.

Not experiencing any such problem with a couple other forums in which I participate.

No issues here with Firefox or Safari on my computer or phone, but I don't do Windows or
IE, so I can't speak to those platforms

I'm using Windows 10 and Explorer. it's less than a second to get to the next page on the New Posts forum.
I do have another site where it is slow -- not sure why.

Sounds like it is time to clear out the cache or history.
Clear the cache; then history, then cookies that start with penturners.org

After that, check how much space is devoted to the cache. With todays Terra-byte drives it is usually too large. Set it to about 50 megabytes.

All these things have many "how-to"s on the net.

Seems generally to be waiting on ads, I joined less than a month ago. Tonight actually was pretty fast response, but occasionally it will take several minutes after I click Logout before I get the confirm box (lol). Thanks for all the replies.

Sorry you're having trouble. I can't duplicate that issue on any of my test accounts with various browsers.

I'm surprised your browser would even wait 4-5 minutes. I believe that the keep alive timeout on most browsers is 60 seconds. You must be getting some data over that time, or your session would die.

Is this something that happens consistently, or is it related to time of day or some other factor?

I didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying.

I chose to "opt in" to this ad program, with Jeff's permission and assistance.
The ads are all "related to your past activities" and not usually pen making related---I realize they help support IAP and I find them useful sometimes.

It HAS happened that the site slows down while it waits for an ad, but "worst case" has probably been 30 seconds and that is VERY rare.

Firefox, normally, with dozens of tabs open.
