I figure it was about time to try the olive wood I had drying in the corner. I also wanted to spice it up with a knot figure so I got some of my colorply insert blanks out and glued up a knot, narrowly avoiding glueing my finger to the blank. I like the figure the olive wood provided and the colorply came through with flying 3d effect.

Ok I'll probably feel dumb when I get the answer... But, what is a "colorply insert blank"? Love the effect on the knot! Nice Pen...

It's a 1/8th inch thick strip of colorply material I've made up for use in a Celtic knot done on my tablesaw. Colorply is a fairly expensive manmade from wood product from Brookside Veneers. I managed to get some of the last of this color pattern from them last year.
