I am new to this wonderful hobby and just thought I would say hello. I live in Decatur and bought my first lathe for myself after christmas. I have turned a couple slim lines so far and I think I am hooked

Welcome Ben! There is a fairly large community of folks nearby that have also been bitten. We are currently planning a March meeting. The only requirement for attanding the meeting is to know about it and to have an interest in turning, talking, and learning. Please follow the March Meeting Thread on the Tennessee & North Alabama Forum and join us if you can.

I promise you will learn more than you thought possible and meet some real characters. Take the last point as a good thing or not, depending on how much you like to have fun:)

Looking forward to meeting you. Feel free to IM me with any questions you may have.
