New ca problem

Hi all,

I've been trying to get this ca finish to work for me but am having problems. I put 3 or 4 coats on and then sand. There seem to be areas that are dull and areas that are shiny. Am I not getting a thick enough of a coat of ca? That is all I can think that is wrong.

Yep, that's probably it! But if you continue to have problems, take a look at Greg Wilson's article on CA finishing here (http://www.penturners.org/content/CAFinish1.pdf), and we have another great CA article coming up in just a few days! And don't hesitate to bring any problems back and discuss them here! Oh, and take pictures! ;-)

Randall,
My best guess is you are sanding through the CA in spots. the bad news is that when you do this you have to sand it all off and start over. the finish will come out blotchy if you don't.
