My first pics

Okay, I've finally posted a couple of pics. The top pen is a stabilized dyed maple burl. The bottom pen is a mix of birdseye maple and walnut. I was experimenting with shapes and design with the maple/walnut pen and I don't think I really like the way it came out. I also think it would have looked better with a gold pen kit, but I was out of those. Oh well, all in the name of learning. BTW, both were finished with PPP high gloss over 2 layers of BLO/CA. I sanded to 800 then used EEE wax before the BLO/CA. Constructive criticism is welcome.

The gold might have looked better on the last one but I think you did a great job, the inlays look evenly spaced from the center ring. And I like the little indentions you have put in there. Can't say as I'm crazy for the colors of the top one but it is a nice pen.

 

[Doghouse]

I like the mix of the green and browns of the top one. If that one was black, it would be military.
