#1 is Austrailian Blackwood .
#2 is Figured Walnut .

Very nice Doug, I guess Ausy blackwood is brown. I bet you want some gold nibs for those babies. LOL, Haven't seen those type of pen kits as well.

The subtle bowing of the barrels lends an air of distinction.
I , personally , don't prefer a straight turned pen and I almost always add some type of dimension to one . I think that it gives a pen a little more class .
I guess Ausy blackwood is brown. I bet you want some gold nibs for those babies. LOL, Haven't seen those type of pen kits as well.
The Blackwood that I have ranges from a deep brown to what you see here . As for the $50.00 Gold Nibs - I don't think that they would go well with a $4.50 pen kit !!![:D]LOL[:D] The kit is from CSUSA , it's pictured on their site as a completely straight turned pen . Kind of drab!!

Doug, very nice. Now, take the next step and make one of these beauties your daily pen. Once you get to writing with a fountain pen, you leave the others behind, except for those pesky multi-sheet carbonless forms!
