Well, its wasn't so much TURNING the palm, as opposed to SANDING the palm... even with very sharp tools, the fibers would pull/chip out. I stopped with approx 1/16" left above the bushings, and attacked with 120-grit sandpaper.
It came out OK, but I'm not sure I like working with it. I guess if it sells, I'd replace it, but I don't think I'd make more unless there's an interest.
