Well I just got arround to make one. Now I have to find someting to use it. I found this brass fitting at Lowes, it has thick walls so it seems to be good for the (furule) is that how you call it? I drilled 2 holes, cut the treads and that is about that. Turn an ugly handle and rout a groove to accept the blade.
Lets see how it works now.
What is the recommended overhung for the blade?
Thanks for looking

Hi Alex

Nice job on the tool. I made mine also but yours seems much simpler to make.

The over hang will vary depending the type of wood, the speed of the lathe and the effect you want. Most people experiment a little on the wood first and once they get the effect they are looking for they turn off the experiments and then create the chatter.

John,
Jig Saw blades work well
