Howdy
A little while ago some other scroll saw folks and myself made some 4"x4" "tiles" for a charity auction.
This was sponsered by Fox Chapel publishing company.
I believe there were about 44 or so tiles.
After it was put together The whole quilt auctioned off for $919.75,
First pic is my contribution to the quilt
State of Mass with state bird Black caped chickadee.
State is made from aspen.
The bird (10 pieces i think) from aspen, oak, maple, cherry
Technically the bird is my first Intarsia project.
Fancy name for drawing a picture using different pieces and colors of wood.
Intarsia is a form of wood inlaying that is similar to marquetry.
The technique of Intarsia inlays sections of wood (at times with contrasting ivory or bone) within the solid matrix;
by contrast marquetry assembles a pattern out of veneers upon the carcase.
Second pic is quilt and proud owner.
