Very nice looking pen. Shar are you aware of how ebony has a bad tendency to crack? Every pen that I have made with it has ended up cracking, mostly a few weeks after it was finished. Most of us I believe, have started using an alternative. Something like african blackwood I think is what most use. What I plan on trying is to send some holly out and have it died black and stabilized. I have a couple pieces of holly that is died but have not had a chance to turn it yet, a teal and a gold.

I hope that I did not ruin your day:~(

Hi Shar, very nice pen, I also changed to using blackwood, had some bad luck with ebony cracking. However, I came across something that looked pretty cool. When I did a batch of havana ebony pens, they all cracked. So I got some really colorfull polymer clay and just filled the cracks, Sold all of them and kept this one for me as a daily writer and feild test model. The clay has never come out, looks as good as the day I put it in. The bright colors like yellow, orange, red are the best. Anthony
