Dang that Eugene cooks up some good blanks. Ran this one this morning and I am very pleased with it. It will make a lovely Christmas gift.

Wet sanded with 220,320,500,800,1000,1200,1500, and 2000. Then MM-12000 full cycle followed by Meguire's Extreme ScratchX and PlastX. A coat of Ren Wax finishes the finishing. Kit is a Timberbits Executive Sierra.

The lighting washed out the purples which are a good bit deeper in person but you get the idea. There is one section on PIC 1 that almost looks like abunch of burl eyes especially as you rotate it. Cool. Nice job Eugene!

I opened the PIX in Photoshop and hit AutoColor adjustment and it took out some of the yellow which was washing out the purple. Here are the much more accurate PIX in terms of color of the pen. The background is closer to the first set but the pen colors are spot on to the second set.

Acrylics are hard to photograph cuz the light bounces around in them and does weird things. I wanted you all to see the nice purples in Eugene's blank.

Hey Chuck did you ever notice that Mary has on her Facebook page profile PIC the snapshot of her reading the note that came with our pen? Amazing that she still has that pic on there. Just goes to show what a powerful thing a pen can be.

Haven't been on there in a long time. Have to check it out. I think about her often though. Making a pen in honor of her son, a true American Hero, was the least I could do for such an incredible person. Thanks!
