I finally have my dust collector(Workshop Tools) and want to find a source for the fabric bag on top that collects the dust. Also the vinyl bags for the debris on the bottom. What do you guys(and gals) do when the upper bag gets dirty? Is there a special way to clean it ,or do you just turn it inside out and start whackin it with a stick?[}:)]

I never do that. It will get dirty the very first time you use it and I hardly clean mine with no noticeable drop in suction. If and when I decide to clean it, I just tap it all around while the DC is off but while the bags are still mounted correctly. That way all the dust will fall IN the lower bag still and not fly all around (containment is the key). (edit in) I usually clean mine just before replacing the lower bag which is just 3 times since I started turning. Note that I mill a lot of wood before (for selling) and have a stage separator for the bigger stuff but no longer use it after moving.

Canister is a great choice if you can afford it.

I buy the lower bags at Walmart, it is much cheaper. Look at the painting section, they have the contractor grade trash bags in various sizes and thickness (2 mil and 3 mil). In my experience these are more than enough. I still double bag the bottom for added protection.

sbell111: where did you find the 1 micron canisters at HF? I can't seem to locate them on their website. I have a HF dc that has about 5 micron bags I would like to retrofit.

The part number is 94278-0VGA. According to my invoice, they call it '1 MICRON CANISTER DUST COLLECTOR CONVERSION KIT'. I don't see it on their website this afternoon. It is probably just temporarily out of stock.
