Here is a crushed velvet acrylic in gold and green that I laminated. This stuff is awesome! It cuts nicely. It is fantastic to glue up. And the finish is INCREDIBLE!!! I turned it to shape, then use a light once over with a skew. Then I use wet foam backed abrasive mesh pads in 350/500/1000/2000 & 4000 grit. Then a light polish with Simichrome polish to bring it to a high luster.

Mike, I have made a few pens from the crushed velvet and I too really like it. I really like the way that you combined 2 colors!! I need to do this. I heard that the crushed velvet is reminiscent of what was used in the 20's. Kirk [8D]

Very nice Mike. I'm going to make about a dozen of them this week (in my SPARE time!) for Christmas gifts. The stuff is great to finish. I wonder how they make the crushed velvet look?

Mike,

Great looking pen. I love the center band. Working on something like that in Corian. Looks like I’m going to start looking for sources of crushed velvet. [:D]
