Couple of bowls

For your interest here are a couple of bowls I knocked up during the week. The lighter one is White Top burl and I can't remember the species I used for the darker one but will edit this post to include later.

I like the overall shape and proportions of the bowls, and a very nice finish. One of these days I hope to try a few bowls like that.

Beautiful woods and beautiful bowls.

Pardon a naive question, but do you use hollowing tools to "undercut" the rims or is there enough space to get in there with traditional bowl turning tools?
