Fresh off the lathe-- Buckeye Burl--it is done----completely.
She weighs in at 12.0 oz and stands a proud 9 1/2 inchs tall.
This is the most expensive block of store bought wood that I have ever turned. The incluesion was real fun.
Hope you enjoy

Beautiful!

He-he-he

If you don't have the hole, you won't need to sand actually [;)]

Fred ---I just made my own tools----well I really hired a machinest to make what I wanted.
Sanding---I used a small air sander inside----really did not do a very good job of sanding the inside---Since this is Buckeye Burl unstablized --it is to light to use a scraper on---she would have blown up. The outside is sanded to 600G and it is finished with a hand rubbed oil. I will buff it out one more time here in a couple of days.
Thanks for all the kind remarks-----after it sits for about a week it will be done-- then off to the showroom with a price tag on it.
