Bottle stopper blanks

Hey all!

I'm just starting with bottle stopper blanks, hacking up this Box Elder that's taken over my house, and was wondering what the best size is for a desirable blank. Obviously, I want to keep them as small as possible to make as much $$$ as I can off the wood, but I don't want to shortchange anyone's desire to 'turn big'.

When I'm cutting up this wood, what's good for an overall target?

Hi,
Anything fron 1½x1½x2½ to 2x2x3

I personnaly prefer the 2x2x3 version, it give you more flexibility.

Karl,

A good size is 1.75 x 1.75 x 2. Plenty of room for creativity!

Well, I'll just go for 2x2x3, I've got the wood, and anything smaller would just make me have to mill more anyways. heh

Well, heck, while I'm lopping up wood, what's a good size for peppermills? Any other oddities you can think of while I'm at it?

I've got a good handle on sizes for these blanks:

Pens
Stoppers
Bowls
Peppermills (hopefully soon)
Cribbage Boards(1"x5"x15")

Any other ideas, requests?

3X3X12 is a good size for peppermills I believe.
