Blue Pine , Cedar & Figured Walnut Pen

Here's the first pen from the Blue Pine Wood that I had asked about . It was a lot softer that I had expected and it took 3 coats of CA to stabilize it properly .
The second pen is from the Aromatic Cedar that I got from Daniel and the 3rd is from Figured Walnut with a center band of Deer Antler .

That blue pine sure has a nice looking grain. I have never worked with it. Pretty soft huh.

Nice group of pens Doug, where is the BLUE, in the blue pine? Is there any there? don't see any.

Somehow the blue that was in the original piece of wood , changed to a deep smokey blue and almost appears like a blue-black in the finished pen . I think that it was more than likely caused by the CA because before applying it it was still a nice blue color .

Yes it is , but after the CA it hardened up nicely . I actually did most of the final sizing by sanding as I also don't have the proper sized bushings for this style of pen , I'm using the 8mm bushings from a perfume pen and doing all the final sizing by means of a micrometer .
