Black Bear on Mesquite Burl

Here is a pen Griz should like. It is a Black Bear on Mesquite Burl. This was custom made for a lady who loves bears. The bear was cut with a laser engraver (Precision Laser Works).

I am a bear fancier (I have worn a bear claw necklace constantly for over 30 years) and have just established a working relationship with a laser engraver business. So far he has put my signature on duck calls and crosses on Baron that do not have them clips available. This week he will be putting a bear on my personal Baron. So, call me a copy-cat, it's nicer than plagarizer. [:I] BTW, nice pen and great idea.

Thanks for all the comments. The only thing I would change next time is that I would have used Blackwood for the bear rather than the inlay material. This stuff works well when I use my rotary tool in my inlay machine, but it is not as well suited for laser engraving. It tends to deform a little due to the heat. I bought it from Atlas Billiards.
