Black Ash Burl

First time using this kit and wood learned alot about patience. I picked them up from Rockler. I found the instructions to be vague and ended up thinking I had messed up the blank so I let it sit for a few days and on the one end there is an additional black ring of ebony I put on it, I actually like it as it matches the center band. Also blew out a piece which I found and glued back on and fill some small crevices with CA and dust from the blank. Pictures are not the greatest but I do like the kit and this wood. All critiques are welcome.

I agree the instructions from Rockler can be a bit vague some times.
Thats a flat top if I am not mistaken.
Love the added ebony ring.

Nice save, on that kit the ring looks like it should be there. Black ash is one of my favourite burls. Nice finish on this one.

Great looking pen. I am sitting on 14 Black Ash Burl blanks that would knock your socks off! As soon as I get a chance I am going to see what I can do with one of them. Your work is inspiring.
