Hi All

Had a little fun in the shop turning these pens - I'm really enjoying casting.

Thanks to John for the turn between center kit - tried that out today and really liked it.

Thanks for Looking

Jeff

Really nice casts there. what recipe did you use for your coffee bean? I had a few attempts not work out. seems to cure different

Good job! How did you finish the coffee pen? Does the finish mask the smell of the coffee?

Hello Jeff,

Nice casting there. All great looking pens. I like the third pen the best. Nice touch with the center band. I like the colour too (mauve, lavender, lilac - I think that what is called).

Coffee Pen Finish

Good job! How did you finish the coffee pen? Does the finish mask the smell of the coffee?

I finished the coffee pen with a few coats of ca to seal the coffee - then buffed on 3 wheel buff. You can't smell the coffee once it's sealed but it is fun to turn. Nothing better than the smell of fresh coffee to me. I would like the pen to smell like coffee when it's done but I'm not sure how you would do that as the beans had some voids and were rough to the touch.
