Here's a couple of the pens I've made in the last year. Locust and bocote, kingwood and magnolia, bois d'arc cigar pen, maple and walnut veneer. I hate to waste wood so some of my pens are rather plump!

Really like that last one. The wavy lines really add interest. Is that just layers of veneer glued in a wavy cut wood blank? It is an interesting technique, how about some info on how you did it!

Yes, just layers of veneer glued in a wavy cut wood blank. Cut lengthwise down the middle and glued with veneer, then another cut down the middle at right angles & glued, then some across the blank & glued.
I've made a couple like this also, drilled across at right angles several times with bamboo skewers from the grocery store. Interesting effect & my niece likes it anyway.

I used ordinary white glue for the bamboo, polyurethane for the walnut veneer, the veneer was dampened to make ir more flexible. Seemed to hold together ok.
