Friction Polish

Friction Polish is easy to apply and easy to repair.  But it is not durable for a pen that may be used on a daily basis.

Apply the polish to a clean rolled up paper towel.  With the lathe turning at about 1000 to 2000 RPM apply to the blank, then squeeze the blank firmly until you feel heat coming thru the paper towel.  Hold the paper towel in your fingers but do not wrap it around your fingers or hands in case it is pulled from your grasp by the spinning lathe.  Allow the finish to cure for 30 minutes to 1 day.  Apply wax to the finish and them assemble the pen.
