Madrone

General Information
Madrone is a evergreen tree that grows in North America from Texas, across the southwest up along the west coast into southwestern Canada. It is also known (especially in the northern areas) as arbutus, its botanical name.
There are a number of subspecies that vary in size dependent on the location they grow. In Texas, madrone is considered to be a threatened species.
Madrone burl is common.
