Title IAP Collection Pen #32
Description Americana by the late Russ Fairfield

This pen is of special historical significance to the IAP membership. Itís journey into the IAP Collection has been a reflection of the generosity of IAP, and more specifically, several individuals who recognized itís importance. Jeff Brown (Jeff); LeRoy Smith (Smitty37); and finally Richard Ray (HCPens) all purchased and subsequently donated this pen for fund-raising purposes for IAP. On behalf of IAP, we thank each of these individuals.

(Information provided by Jeff, edited by Mark James) Our good friend Russ Fairfield passed away in 2011. Like many of you, I (Jeff) got my start in penturning watching Russ's videos and surfing his web site. When Russ passed away, I asked Scott Greaves to let the family know that I was interested in purchasing any of Russís for-sale inventory which was available, if and when they were ready to sell. My intention was to keep a piece or two for my own collection, and make the rest available to IAP members via a fund raising activity.

I was eventually able to purchase about a dozen items from Mrs. Fairfield, including this pen. The original certificate of authenticity I provided is included. This pen was in daily use in the Fairfield home, and so has some signs of wear and tear, but as such, it has a special significance that every penturner appreciates Ė the use and enjoyment of our own products.
