Was really worried when I started because although I painted the brass tube orange, I could clearly see that tube inside the unspun blank. Turned out well after all. Anyway, this Mesa pen/stylus is going to be sent out to my mom some 2300 miles away.

I bought this Burgundy Marble blank from Lyle at Invisible Blanks, and really love the way it worked. It's iridescence is lovely.

Has anyone made both the Mesa (offered by WoodturningZ) and the Gatsby (by Penn State). I've been making the Mesa, but was wondering if the Gatsby was a better made pen. It looks like the Gatsby runs about 1-2 dollars more. Mike
