I have a client that wants initials engraved in metal portion of brass bolt action top. Can it be done with out chipping finish, and has anyone else done engraving on a bolt action?

Hi, I have to get a few pens engraved. I plan to finish thme with CA. I have never had this done before. Do i engraved after or before finishing? I was wondering if the laser would ruin the finish. Thanks for your help.

I would like to remove about 1/16 inch off a slimline pen barrel, to give me more space to engrave a name with a pantograph engraver (Gravograph IM3). Any pen over 10mm, 3/8 inch, diameter engraves well with my IM3. Anyone have any suggestions how to do this accurately. thank you Peter
