    Best Wood to Dye????

    I'm going to try dyeing wood a few different colors, cutting them into thin strips then glue them in alternate colors. What wood accepts dyes the best? Birch???? Also, should I add wood hardener to the dye before I turn on the vaccuum? Thanks for any and all advice. Kevin
