2011 Midwest PEnturning Gathering News . . .

Well, Terrence and I have strived to make the 2011 MPG a go but due to issues for both of us that I won't go into here, regrettably, we have cancelled this year's Gathering.

To all who have supported us in the past in any way, we thank you very, very much.

Cozee/Terrence - would you opposed to others stepping in to plan one? It may not be in IL but somewhere in the midwest - Ed's backyard maybe (LOL).

I, for one, would be willing to help plan this. I don't know if people would want to come to MN so I would not want to chair it. Maybe someone in Des Moines? KC? St Louis? Wisconsin?

I was driving around yesterday thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder how I can make it to the MPG this year..."

You did a great job and I loved the MPGs I attended. Thanks for all of the hard work and months of planning you, Terrence and your family put into making a truly unique event possible. You made my "pen family" much bigger and better.

(MY wife STILL won't watch my DVDs from the 2007 MPG.)

Neither Terrence nor myself hold the exclusive rights to pan turning events. It is just that this year we are so swamped with other issues of life; work, school, elderly family members, home remodeling, kids, and the list goes on. Time simply got away from us this past year so we are taking a year off. The MPG will return next year if not maybe this fall (late October/early November maybe!!). If anyone should be so moved to start something, great. That is how the MPG got started. I wanted to attend something like it but most events were to far away for me to justify attending so I figured, why not put something on here. I mentioned it to Terrence and he smiled and said he had a building we could use and so the MPG began.

As they say, "build it and they will come!"

Thanks Cozee. I realize that you didn't "own" it but in a way you do so I wanted to seek your blessing before proceeding.

So, do we have anyone interested in helping to put an event together in the midwest? Do we have anyone with a location we could hold it?

While I'm new at this hobby I would be happy to help. Don't what I could contribute besides ideas and support but I'm willing. Perhaps when the BB is completed more people can get involved. Perhaps something in late summer, early fall?

At any rate count me in.
