I'm with Fred... I don't have that many drill bits, but since LOML got me the drill doctor - cheap bits work just fine! Even brand new bits get sharpened before use, and now I don't get blow outs and don't need 'waste' material, even in acrylic or dymondwood.

Well Wildman (sign with your first name and I will use it!!)

I have used a couple "plastic bits" which may not be the ones you show, but they were very aggressive flutes. IF everything was held in place (drilling on the lathe with a collet chuck), things went well. But, if the blank could move (drill press) to climb up the bit, there were problems.

I agree with the others--get any bit, just get it sharp!!!

When you see ribbons coming from your drilled object, things will go well---although I still don't "drill through" most materials---why tempt fate???

I have and use smaller brad point bits set from Harbor Freight and twist drill bits not sure where got them from been so long ago to drill blanks. Stopped buying drill bits from suppliers with pen kits, on advice from Eagle.

Was over at Wikipedia this morning and found a chart that can not post here. Went looking for bits to drill plastics. Never heard Plexi-Point- bits mentioned here before so thought would ask. Thanks to you guys will save my money.

I haven't heard of that brand before but we used to have special bits designed for use on plastics . We used them to get clean chip free holes in the thick Plexiglass we built Subwoofer boxes and Amp racks from . There is a big difference in those applications but for what we do my HF 115 pc set works fine . I need to get a Drill Dr , I'm tired of sharpening my bits by hand .
