haven't posted any work as far as casting blanks lately. i've been filling orders and finally had a bit of time to make some for muah. here are the colors from top to bottom:
yellow/white
bright blue/chocolate brown
blue/yellow (blue angels)
black/magenta (for those looking at coastal scents mica this is what cellini red ends up like...not red at all)
black/white/silvery blue
black/red/white with a ton of gold flakes
red/white/blue (not happy with the blue, not enough swirl)
red/white/blue (tube blank...blue will be on the inside)

thanks for looking and for any comments

Wow, some nice combinations. I don't have the talent to try that yet. How do you get the separations of colors to be so prominent? I tried with alumilite and the colors just kind of blended.

best way i can explain is to mix each color separately/add catalyst and wait until they start to gel. not just when they start to thicken but when they are almost set. you have to be VERY careful about air bubbles with doing this. maybe its my turn to try a tutorial, but i'd have to do a video bc a picture can't show what i'm trying to explain.

Brooks803,
Where do you get your supplies for your casting?I would like to start casting a little but it seems like the materials are expensive. The resin alone is $22.00 for a 16oz. can at Hobby Lobby. The Catalast is $6.00. I haven't found the little plastic molds anywhere.I think the colored pigment is about $8.00 each.

Resin can be found here:
for silmar 41 & comes with catalyst: http://www.uscomposites.com/
castin craft (cheaper than hobby lobby): http://www.dickblick.com/products/c...p=google&wmcid=products&wmckw=33520-1006-2061
Mica Powders: http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=35
Plastic Molds: http://www.kitkraft.biz/product.php?productid=5612&cat=1268&page=1

Hope all of this helps. You can probably get away with 32oz of castin craft resin, some sample baggies of mica, and 1 or 2 molds for well under $100 including shipping. Now that doesn't count for mixing cups, stir sticks, and other various neccessities. Also, check out all the tutorials located in the library. There's alot of VERY useful info in there. most of all have fun and be safe (the fumes are very strong so have plenty of ventilation).
