Prize

Rappahannock River Crib Dam Wood
3 Blue Oak (these are best quality)
4 Best Pine

This wood has been featured on the "New Yankee Workshop", and was excavated from underwater of the Crib Dam circa 1854. I have seen these blanks selling for $10-$20 dollars each

Ancient Kauri wood
4 Kauri burl blanks
(these are from a block of burl that I purchased and have much more figure than the standard Kauri blanks)

This is the world's oldest workable wood! It has been featured on the History Channel's "Modern Marvels"

Bethlehem Olive Wood
6 Bethlehem olivewood blanks

The vinaigrette aroma given off during turning makes this wood a joy to turn

Heartwood Pine
6 old barn southern yellow heartwood pine

These are local wood blanks I reclaimed from a 100 year old barn. They may not seem as spectacular as the exotic wood blanks we are used to, but they are some of my best sellers.

Last but not least:
These blanks do not have certificates, but they are hand picked from the best of my collection. (I believe most if not all are stablized)
Left to Right:
Amboyna burl with sapwood
Curly Hawaiian Koa
Redwood Burl
English Walnut (exceptional grade)
Curly Mango, brown
Oliepod
Double dyed Boxelder (Berea Hardwoods)

Just Added; Trustone Blanks!

Thanks to the generous contribution of Richard DeArment (randbcrafts) I am pleased to announce the addition of these gorgeous Trustone blanks!

in the pics are 3/4" Tru-Stone Blanks:
#40 Turquoise w/ Gold Matrix
Azurite Web
Persian Turquoise
Blue River Agate
White Turquoise
Bloody Basin Red Jasper
Around a $50 value

We have to work out the logistics and such because the winner may be of the far far away variety. I may have Richard send the blanks to me so I can mail all at once, but I'm very afraid they may get lost in the mail, never to be seen again, well, until I post pictures of them in the post your pen pictures forum.

Thanks very much to Richard DeArment!

For the computer geeks out there, here's how I picked the winner:

I created a single file list of each ticket. If you purchased more than one ticket, your name was on the list multiple times according to how many tickets purchased. This list was then run through a random list generator at Random.org twice (like suffling a deck of cards) This created a number for each name ( 1-148) Then, I went to www.mdani.demon.co.uk/para/random.htm which picked number 37 between 1-148 with no repeats. 37 matched CaptG on the random.org list of names. And there you have it, and soon CaptG will have it!

Richard:

Thanks for organizing this raffle. That is an awesome collection of pen blanks!!! Normally I don't participate in raffles; but this one is very tempting!!

BTW, with respect to the following:
Quote:
...25 dollars will put your name in the hat five times...
Is that a typo?? Many raffles offer bonus tickets when folks buy multiple tickets.

No, it's not a typo. I didn't know about the extra ticket thing. This is the first time I've done one of these, so I'm learning. All the money goes to the IAP, so I'm not sure I should be giving tickets away. Hope the paypal links work. If not, I'll have to sort it out tomorrow evening as I'm working a 10 hour shift from 7:00 till 5:30 Monday

Goodnight,
Rmartin

I have been asked to help with this thread - so here I am.

I'll start more aggressively pushing it tomorrow, but for those who read my silliness, this will be one of the sources.

The MATERIAL presented is REALLY a nice package!!!!! And, at $5 a chance, whaddayagotolose????

Thanks for allowing me to help, Richard!!!:D:D

Just have to read through the "Rules" part to get to it, but it IS worth it!!

In their teeth? OUCH just pushing on it should be bad enough. I bet he does not even use the novacaine.

Patient " OUCH Doc my tooth really hurts!"
Cav "take it like a man son, walk it off! Spit....nurse drill please"
