Anyone have experience with one of these?

I'm new to pen making, but not new to turning and am thinking about making some blanks with curved segments. So I'm looking for a functional/inexpensive scroll saw. Reviews I found on the net for machines under $300 were mixed to say the least.

Woodcraft sells the Proxxon Scroll Saw DSH/E, Model 37090 for around $250. Looks sturdy, accurate and stable for what I hope to do. Seems the earlier ones did not have variable speed, but the ones Woodcraft is selling has variable speed from 200-1400.

For those who suggest saving more for the Delta or Excaliber.... $250 is a big stretch already.

Thoughts?

Happy Turning!
