Folks -
I am moving to Ohio (WPAFB, Dayton area) -- and will be missing my lathe & tools while in temporary housing (Jan-Feb).

So, I'll be using the down time til March to find turners groups, stores, events, etc.

I guess I should start by reading the posts in this forum :)

Moving to Ohio

Joe,
I don't know about any turning groups in that area.
I do however, recommend you get to:
www.woodcraft.com - 175 East Alex Bell Road, Dayton - (937) 438-1282
Alan, and all the guys that work there are very helpful and may know of a group you could hook yourself up with. They have a nice teaching shop and put on some pretty good classes.

Welcome to the area and good luck

Moved to Ohio

Move is done.

Ironically, and quite luckily, I'm in Centerville -- just south of the only real Woodcraft in the area!

I must:
* Get my workshop set up ... I'm jonesing to turn bowls, make pens, etc.
* Find a new bandsaw
* Find a decent lumber yard ... something with hardwoods, and exotics
* Get hooked up with fellow penturners and woodturners

I got here in early January -- to catch the Ohio Winter but, more importantly, to miss that horrible New England snow dump that occurred.

win!
