Hey there, happy to join the community. I'm a twenty something year old who found my love for pen turning six years ago when I had an older gentleman offer to teach me the basics. I purchased my own lathe and set up a workshop a little over a year ago and I have come to love this hobby. I work in IT for a day job so working with my hands is a nice break from a computer screen. So far my pens are beautiful but basic, only a few wood /acrylic composites but nothing compared to the craftsmanship on this site. I am looking to learn and expand my abilities by joining this community. I made a logo for my pen making brand though. Now I just have to get my turning skills up to par with my branding skills.

Welcome! I, too, work in IT and totally understand the desire to leave the technology alone for a while and actually make things.

Regards,
Michael
