Hi! I'm new to pen turning. Since I retired in 2013, I needed a hobby to keep me busy. Thanks to my friend and ex-boss, Gordon Kincheloe, who has helped me immensely to get started in this interesting hobby, I have had many pleasurable hours turning sticks of wood into pleasing works of art!
I've been at this for less than six months now and attend monthly meetings of the Alamo Penturner's club. It's amazing and inspirational to see what others are doing, and to learn from these people.
My goal is to someday turn something other than pens. I want to be able to make the other types of items, such as urns, plates, and other wonderful items that require a lathe, wood, tools, and a little knowledge.
