Hello, IAP, I'm Jay.

I've been turning for about a year and a half now, and I'm just beginning to expand past the simple slimline kits. I'm a techie (web design, graphic design, programming) but I began turning while fundraising at my school. The industrial tech teacher thought my fundraiser was lame, so he taught me how to turn pens instead. After putting hours upon hours of work into the school lathe, not only had I raised enough, but I had also discovered a new hobby. I bought myself a lathe after saving up and continued on my own.

Now I've graduated and really started expanding my skills, greatly to the credit of these forums. Now that I've properly introduced myself, I'll be looking forward to taking part in the conversations and learning new things.

Welcome to IAP, Jay !!!!

Glad to hear you are "moving on" from slimlines.
There is a whole world ahead of you. Slimlines are the hardest, IMHO.
