Bob, I am in Lexington. That is about 2 hours from Richmond also. Not sure if we are in the same direction though.

Welcome, another guy here from just outside of Richmond. I'm another addict in the pen turning club at Woodcraft. You're completely right, IAP is the best place to learn starting out, and as you continue. I'm just warning you, this craft is a slippery slope that can consume all of your time, money, and'll go around looking at every material you see wherever you go and say "I wonder what that would look like on a pen....".
